Timing

I rarely write posts, but I did yesterday.  About Apple’s iPhone 4S launch of all things. An hour or so later we learned the Steve Jobs passed away.

I don’t have much to add that won’t be said and that we don’t already know.  The world benefitted tremendously from his vision and execution and I’m thankful for the amount of time we had with him on this planet.

It’s not uncommon to hear stories about cancer patients holding on until the after the conclusion of an important event or unfinished chapter.  Stories about people waiting for their children to get married, graduate from school or to see the birth of a grandchild.

I’d like to think that Steve watched the Apple launch on Tuesday, sent a note to Tim Cook congratulating him on a job well done, and then turned to his family to say goodbye, knowing his baby was in capable hands.

Thanks Steve — You enriched the lives of everyone.
